Green Cover - Cardoso + Zuniga
The house comes the call to contest conducted annually by the Universidad de la Republica in Uruguay for the construction of a home that is giving away prize annually as these raffles, which are conducted with the purpose of funding the study tour Architecture students from around the world.
This project is the winner of the competition for housing 2007 contest held each year. Its construction represents the biggest prize of the raffle draw for the architecture.
Demand
The foundation asked for a permanent home in a suburb of the city of Montevideo. The district (Diving) has an average density plot but compact.
It stipulated: 120m2 + garage 15 m2 interior + 35m2 outdoor conditioners (parrilero, pergolas, etc.). The property is 9.80m wide by 24m and 4m retirement fund front.
Green Roof
In a small farm into a compact frame, the game displays a topographic regenerating the soil so as to have 100% green area.
A spiral articulated housing, establishing a spatial sequence upstream of indoor and outdoor.
The interior space is divided into three trays a daily (kitchen sitting and dining area), one private (bedrooms) and third (driveway, access, study, playroom). The different spaces of the roof conclude the rise, a few elements accompany the green roof, these help to contain and project space.
The final draft made changes to the draft of the contest, thanks to the adviser and client, which allowed except not to increase the final cost of housing. This budget a project A with a variant B, under the hypothesis of change retaining walls and fill in more space. Expanded space for the garage and removed the top access, so that the house gained a new "tray" with a use defined by user.
